It's a new year! And it has taken me time to get back into things after taking a break to focus on school- I am working towards my Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics so that I can be even more knowledgeable about feeding the body and how to help those with diseases related to diet and lifestyle. This week I collaborated with an Atlanta based Civic Art and Design team, Argah Noah, for a fundraising dinner that incorporated taste, smell, art and design.  I am bringing some of those elements into next week's meal prep menu where spice is at the center of each dish. August 28: A Week on My Plate

I skipped last week to take a moment to refresh and recharge. It has been an incredibly busy summer, and more exciting things are starting to transpire. I took the week of the solar eclipse to ground myself, my practices, and my cooking.  It was a week of inspiration, with trial and error and new flavors.  This weeks' menu brings in some new flavors while maintaining the integrity of my Israeli- Mediterranean style with a South African kick, always keeping local ingredients at the forefront.  Most of the vegetables came from the Decatur Farmers Market which happens Wednesday's and Saturday's.

August signals the end of summer and beginning of school for many- which means busy schedules and back to a routine.  This sometimes make things easier- but eating well, and having something that appeals to everyone, isn't always easy after a long day.  This week's menu pulls on summer vegetables and simple dishes that will last in the fridge or can be frozen to enjoy later in the week.  Enjoy- one bite at a time!
